TOUCH is the first agency in Singapore to be accredited by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) to conduct home
study and post placement reports.
Both home study and post placement reports are required by the child's country in order to ensure that the child is placed with parents who are ready and able to provide the basic needs essential for the physical, mental and social development of the child.
With effect from 1 February 2005, anyone wishing to adopt a child from a foreign country must complete a home study report before proceeding with immigration and legal procedures for adoption.
The home study process involves interviews and a home visit. Office interviews are conducted by our accredited home study assessors who would ask you questions regarding your motivation to adopt, views on adoption, family, marital, medical and employment history, childcare arrangement, parenting styles, and other relevant information involving adoption and adoptive parenting. The purpose of the home visit is to assess the suitability of your home and neighbourhood environment to raise a child.
Post placement reports are required by some countries to ensure the child's safety and wellbeing and to monitor the adjustment of the child and family after placement. The frequency of these reports vary from country to country.
Fees for home study and post placement reports are regulated by MCYS as follows:
